When the stars intertwine...
This one-of-a-kind ink illustration was drawn on 9x12 inch, 100 lb Bristol paper using India ink, a brush, a Pentel brush pen, Micron pens, and Pro-White gouache. The starry sky was created by dipping a toothbrush into the gouache and using the bristles to splatter the illustration. This technique leaves the sky with a raised and textured surface.
This piece was originally a part of my "Celestial Bodies" Inktober series, in which I drew thirty-one different astronomical objects in thirty-one days. This particular illustration represents the Antennae Galaxy: a pair of galaxies that collided and are now in the process of forming a new galaxy together.
All my illustrations are signed and shipped in a protective plastic sleeve.
